LA Times: Man Exonerated In Texas by Two Crime Junkies

In May 2021, Crime Junkie covered the 1981 murder of Father Patrick Ryan and the subsequent conviction of James Reyos. Thanks to two Crime Junkies and work from the Innocence Project of Texas, Mr. Reyos has been fully exonerated. 

Almost 40 years after James’ arrest, officials discovered that there was untested evidence that has been sitting idle. That evidence proved that James was innocent and was only uncovered because two Crime Junkies listening to our episode decided to put pressure on the case.
